Download your Instagram saved posts
Instagram lets you download all your saved posts and folders as a file. This takes a few steps and Instagram emails it to you within a few hours.
How to request your data download
Follow these steps on your phone or computer:
- Open Instagram and tap your profile picture in the bottom right (or click your profile icon in the top right on a computer).
- Tap the menu (three lines) at the top.
- Go to Accounts Center.
- Tap Your information and permissions.
- Tap Download your information.
- Select Some of your information (don't pick all, since you only want saved posts).
- Tick the box next to Saved. Leave all other boxes unchecked.
- Choose Download to device.
- Pick JSON as the format (not HTML).
- Set date range to All time.
- Tap Request download.
Instagram will email you a download link, usually within a few hours. Check your inbox and download the .zip file.
What's inside the download
The file contains your saved posts, their creators, and the folders you put them in. Instagram saves all this data in JSON format (just a text file, easy for computers to read). You can open it in any text editor or drop it into the free finder to search and see your folders.
Search your downloads
Once you've downloaded the file, you can search it by creator, folder, or link using the free finder. It works right in your browser, shows your folders, and uploads nothing.
Questions
How long does the download take?
Instagram usually sends the download link within a few hours, but it can take up to a few hours. Check your email inbox and spam folder. If it's been more than 4 hours, try requesting again.
Can I download only some of my saves?
Not directly through Instagram. The download always includes everything you've saved. If you want to download again later, you can request a new file, but Instagram gives you all your saves from the date range you choose.
What can I do with the downloaded file?
You can search it on your computer, open it in a text editor, or drop it into the free finder on this site to see your folders and search by creator or link. Some apps can also import this file.
