Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
The short version
- Your saved library lives on your phone. There is no account, and we never get a copy.
- Your saves are not sent anywhere until you start AI sorting yourself. The free finder on this website reads your file in your browser and uploads nothing.
- When you sort with AI, the text of the posts you pick goes to our server and then to an AI provider, DeepSeek, a company based in China.
- Our server does not keep your links, captions or transcripts. It keeps small usage counts (tied to a scrambled install code) and error codes, and deletes them after 90 days.
- Payments are handled by Dodo Payments. We never see your card or UPI details.
- You must be 18 or older.
Who we are
YaadGar is made by an individual developer in India. There is no company yet. In this policy, "we" means that developer. Write to us at yaadgar.help@gmail.com. Privacy questions and complaints go to the same address, and we reply within 2 working days.
What stays on your phone
Your saved links, notes, collections and labels live in the app on your phone. There is no account or login, and the app has no analytics, ads or crash reporting. Android backup is switched off for YaadGar, so if you lose your phone or uninstall the app, we cannot restore your library.
The free finder on this website opens your Instagram or TikTok file inside your browser tab. The file is not uploaded anywhere.
For YouTube saves, the app loads the video's thumbnail from Google (img.youtube.com). That tells Google your IP address and which video it was. We are not involved.
When you use AI sorting
AI sorting is optional. It runs only when you start it, for the posts you pick.
What the app sends to our server for each post:
- the link, the platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and so on), the title, the caption and the creator's handle
- your private notes, only if you switch on "Include my private notes when auto-sorting" in Settings (it is off by default)
- the names of your most-used collections (up to 30), except any you marked private in Settings under "Collection privacy"
- a random install code and your language setting
Before sending, the app blanks out anything in titles, captions and notes that looks like an email address or a long number.
What our server does with it (it runs on Cloudflare Workers):
- It asks DeepSeek to choose a shelf and labels from the platform, title, creator and caption, plus the notes and collection names above if they were sent. The link itself is not sent to DeepSeek.
- If that is not enough, it opens the link's public preview page for the title, description and cover image, like the link preview in a chat app.
- For Instagram and TikTok, if it still cannot tell, it asks Supadata to fetch the words spoken in the public video. Supadata receives the link. The spoken words then go to DeepSeek along with the caption.
- As a last step, it sends the cover image to DeepSeek so it can look at the picture.
The answer comes back to your phone. In Settings, "Delete everything AI added" removes every tag and collection the AI added from your phone.
About DeepSeek
DeepSeek is an AI company based in China. Its published privacy policy says it stores data on servers in China and may use data to train and improve its models. Its developer terms do not clearly say whether that applies to what apps like ours send, so we cannot promise that it does not.
DeepSeek receives only what is listed above. It never gets your install code, your email address, your name or your IP address. If that is not acceptable to you, do not use AI sorting. Everything else in YaadGar works without it.
What our server keeps
These are all the records we hold about AI use. None of them holds your links, captions, transcripts or notes.
- Usage record
- The date, a scrambled (hashed) install code, how many posts were sorted, how many characters their captions had, token counts, how many transcript lookups were made, a count of results by type, and how long it took. Deleted after 90 days.
- Error log
- The time, which step failed, an error code, which provider, and a short request code. It has no install code. Deleted after 90 days.
- Allowance counters
- For each scrambled install code: free items used, any bonus items, and monthly use if you have a plan. Kept while the allowance or plan is in use, and deleted when you ask.
- Network address check
- When a new install starts its free items, a scrambled (hashed) version of its network address is kept for 2 days. This stops one network from starting endless free trials.
- Retry copy
- So that a retry does not use up a second free item, the server holds the AI's answer (the summary, shelf and labels it chose) for about 10 minutes, filed under your scrambled install code and a random code from that request. After that it is no longer used, and our regular clean-up deletes it.
- Plan record
- If you buy a plan: which plan (monthly or yearly), whether it is active, when the current period ends, and Dodo's reference number for the subscription, filed under your scrambled install code. Kept while the plan is active and for 90 days after it ends.
- Waitlist
- If you join the list on this website: your email address, the interest you tapped (optional), the channel tag from the link you came by, such as "reddit" (optional), the time, and a scrambled version of your network address that is used only to limit sign-ups per day. We use it to email you about YaadGar and for nothing else. We keep it until you ask us to delete it. Reply to any email from us, or write to us, and we will remove you.
Payments
Plans are sold through Dodo Payments, which is the merchant of record. Dodo runs checkout, collects tax and sends invoices, and it holds your billing details (name, email, billing address and payment method). We never see or store your card or UPI details. Dodo tells us whether your install has an active plan. Dodo explains how it uses your data in its own privacy policy.
Health information
Saved posts can reveal health details. A reel about pregnancy is an example. That is your own data. It lives on your phone like everything else you save, and it leaves your phone only if you run AI sorting on that post.
Then it travels the way this policy describes for any post: its public text goes to our server and to DeepSeek. We keep it for no longer than the 10-minute retry copy, and we never use it for ads or sell it. The AI may mark a post as being about pregnancy, babies or parenting. That mark is saved on your phone.
YaadGar is an organiser, not a medical service. Labels and summaries can be wrong. Please do not use them to make health decisions. Ask a doctor. If you would rather not send a post, do not run AI sorting on it.
Who else handles your data
- Cloudflare hosts this website, our server and our database. It also counts website visits (pages viewed, country, device type) with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies.
- DeepSeek does the AI sorting described above.
- Supadata fetches the spoken words of public Instagram and TikTok videos.
- Dodo Payments handles checkout and billing.
- Google serves the fonts on this website, and the thumbnails for YouTube saves in the app.
- GitHub hosts the Android app file you download.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not show ads. These companies run servers in several countries (DeepSeek in China), so data you send can leave India. By starting AI sorting, you ask us to send it.
Your rights and deleting your data
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or to stop using it. Write to yaadgar.help@gmail.com. We reply within 2 working days and finish within 30 days.
- Waitlist: write from the address you signed up with.
- AI records: they are filed under a scrambled install code that we cannot connect to your name or email, and usage records and error logs are deleted automatically after 90 days. Uninstalling the app also starts a fresh install code.
- Your library: it is only on your phone. To remove it, clear the app's data or uninstall.
- Billing: Dodo holds it. Ask Dodo, or ask us to pass your request on.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Age
YaadGar is for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly keep data about anyone under 18. If you think a child has used YaadGar, write to us and we will delete the records tied to them.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS. We store install codes and network addresses only in scrambled form, and we keep no content, so there is little to lose. No system is perfectly safe. If a problem affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and in the app. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
